HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAN!

Today our older son, Dan, is 25 years old! Where has the time gone? I can't even believe that it's been two weeks since I put "those" photos up. For the most part, things at CCC have been peacefully uneventful since then. Since this deep freeze started, of course, park activity has slowed. People are hustling and bustling for the holidays. The time is flying and the shopping days are dwindling! I hope some of you have noticed the darling Xmas sweaters that Zach & Ziggy are sporting these days. I want to get a good picture of them and post it on here--before Christmas! What they really need are boots, but I'd be very surprised if there are any that they would or could keep on. I do try to use a paw balm on all our dogs this time of year. In fact, I now sell a Shurepets paw balm through the gift shop website: http://cccgiftshop.shopshurepets.com (see the link on this page) The site is featuring several "Winter Howl-i-day" items that are available while supplies last. For Christmas delivery, most items need to be ordered by the 14th. Shop online, and spend more time at the dog park!

Of course, with this first deep freeze comes our first gate problem of the winter. We have asked a local fence company several times to come give us a consultation, we have been repeatedly blown off! We have some ideas, but need to find a more motivated fence outfit to help implement them! Of course this needs to be done BEFORE it freezes. If any of you know of a good fence contractor, please contact us. Another change we'll be making in the spring is to put a locking gate on the training yard (that our existing key fobs will open). Unfortunately, quite a few unauthorized visitors enter through there, and the number seems to increase with the years the park has been open. Last month we celebrated the 4th anniversary of CCC ! Some of our members have been with us nearly that long. As I do end of the year accounting, I will determine the amount of members that we have, although it is a somewhat fluid number. Also, we're planning some spiffing up of our website and our member photos in the new year... We welcome any ideas or suggestions that any of you may have. I'll return soon with some different, more pleasant photos. Looking forward to a warmer weekend....

SECOND GROSS PHOTO

I believe the text that was printed with these lovely photos was something along the lines of...

"WHY YOU WERE YACKKIN' WAS YOUR DOG

CRAPPIN'???

Come on, people, either clean this up or bring it to our attention! And please, let's not allow the dogs to poop on the furniture, OK

SHOCKING PHOTOS (GROSS PHOTOS)

Bob took these photos last week, as he was cleaning the park on Monday. He was pretty disgusted! He posted these on the bulletin board for a few days....but then took them down.

NO PARK AFTER DARK!

Now that the days are growing colder and shorter, we realize it is difficult for those members who work to make it to the park before dusk. However, this rule was imposed by the zoning board as a condition of our special exception and must be obeyed! We ask for all our members' cooperation with this.
AND ANOTHER THING...As we celebrate our 4th year in business, we want to thank all of our members, both past and present, for making CCC possible. Special thanks go to Bob, without whose help CCC could not continue to be the clean and attractive spot that it is. We need your help to keep CCC clean. The amount of poop in the park has been increasing. Please, pick it up- and point it out to any owners who don't. Thanks!

CCC Gift Shop Website

I've been working all week to set up this website so CCC members and other customers can shop online. Follow this link to view the Gift Shop: www.cccgiftshop.shopshurepets.com

I was browsing through the products on here and became very enthusiastic! They have more stuff than they used to, including a lot of breeds to choose from to personalize some of these gifts. I may be my own best customer, as I intend to order some Christmas stocking stuffers for both humans and dogs in our family! I even see some cute things for our cats.

HALLOWEEN, OCTOBER 31, 2006

What a pleasant day it was today. I posted a little news bulletin called "Bark from the Park" on the bulletin board and in the training yard (mailbox) today, to announce this blog and to tell about the Shure Pets thing--the same things I've posted on here. I hope to get some comments or feedback going on here about CCC, but I realize it will take some time--if it works at all.

I still have a woman's jean jacket that was left on the porch, and a pair of glasses that were left on the trunk in the training yard, both since this summer. Let us know if you think they belong to you. We did turn the water off in the park yesterday. Does anyone know what sticky stuff is all over the bulletin board plexi glass? I used a whole arsenol of cleaning products on it today to no avail. They picked the beans in our field today--dust was flying in the wind. Much of it covered the chairs on the porch...so beware. Until next time.

TURNING OFF WATER 10/30

Just a reminder that we're turning off the water in the park for the winter today. We hope many of you attended the Bark and Meow costume contest this weekend.

Here they are!

The happy (and tall) couple The parents and the bride

October 7, 2006

Our daughter, Jessica, married Greg Roberts in San Diego, CA. The bride was beautiful and poised. The father of the bride, (aka our favorite pooper scooper) was handsome and emotional! Everything about the day was just about perfect... I'm trying to upload a couple of photos, but am having trouble with that right now.

Learning as I go...

My husband and I are the owners of Canine Country Club, a private dog park in Valparaiso, Indiana. I'm starting this blog as a way to communicate with our members (we have about 150 human members), mainly, as well as to get opinions and ideas from our members and any other interested parties. So here we go! More later....
