MOVING TO THE WEBSITE

The blog is moving to within our new revamped website. The park has been closed for two weeks due to flooding and freezing--even the grass is slippery! Come on over to the website: www.cccdogpark.com . (There's a link on this page also)

HERE WE GO AGAIN...

Here we go again. The park is in worse condition than expected this morning, and will be closed until further notice. Even the training yard in not accessible without walking through slush and water. The weather will be changing soon, and we will be updating the website and blog with current conditions. We apologize for this inconvenience, but you can't control Mother Nature...

CHECK OUT THE NEW WEBSITE!

I just got word this evening from our "webmaster" (our daughter in San Diego) that our remodeled web site is on line or live or whatever the proper terminology is! Our dear daughter and favorite son-in-law have been working on the site for a couple of months, giving it a face lift of sorts for the first time since it's inception before we opened CCC 5+ years ago. It is not complete quite yet. We are working on our photo/picture section, trying to add those photos that many of you've sent over the past several months. If you've sent a photo that isn't there, please send it again--or send a picture in for the first time. I'll send them on to Jessica, and they'll soon be on the site. Also, Bob & I will be able to update the news directly on the website which will help us keep on top of the changeable information like weather and ground conditions, and the dreaded park closings. The blog will be incorporated right in the website as well. We should see these changes in the next week or two. Meanwhile, the site has a new look right now that we hope you'll check out.

GOOD NEWS!

The park drained so well today that every hour that we looked out the window, it was noticeably improved. So, late this afternoon after a thorough inspection, we decided to unlock the gate! Therefore, good Lord willin' and the creek don't rise (literally), the park will be open as usual on Sunday!

STAYING CLOSED THURSDAY & FRIDAY, HOPING FOR SATURDAY...

Sorry, folks, but today we got more water into the park than out of it! We've discovered that the problem is that the pond in the Meadow Glen subdivision to our north is draining over the dam into our field, then forming a stream coming south through the field, turning east and running through the park. Then the water slows almost completely as it tries to make its way under Sturdy and then under Division to the south. We'll give this process a few more days, and in the mean time we'll try to prepare the training yard in case the flooding doesn't clear up. If the dam breaks, we may have problems in the training yard as well! Let's plan on at least the training yard being available on Saturday if the dogs are driving you crazy! Hopefully we won't get too much more rain and snow by then. I'll post again on Friday IF there are any changes-- Thanks again for your patience and understanding.

WE'LL BE STAYING CLOSED WEDNESDAY, HOPING TO OPEN THURSDAY...

Well, the park drained pretty well today. This morning it was at least half submerged, with the water reaching far enough north so that all the arborvitaes in the small dog yard were standing in water. The intersection of Sturdy and Division was under water as well, so by tonight things were much improved. However, the ground was very muddy before all the rain and flooding, and it has been raining again tonight and is not supposed to freeze until tomorrow night. So, we've decided to remain closed tomorrow to give the park another day to dry out and hopefully harden up a bit. I hope this happening early this year means we won't have to go through it again in late February and March (like last year). We'll reevaluate the park tomorrow afternoon and make our decision about Thursday. Again, we're sorry for the inconvenience and we will unlock the gate as soon as possible. Thanks!

DOG PARK IS UNDER WATER!

Due to the lethal combination of melting snow, thawing ground, and RAIN, Canine Country Club is severely flooded. The entire corner of Sturdy and Division is under water. We will be closed until the park dries up and refreezes. We apologize to all for any inconvenience, and promise to reopen asap. We'll keep the blog and the phone message updated. Thank you for your understanding.

2:15--PLOW HAS COME

OK-the plow has done the parking lot! Our son was just in an accident at the corner of Sturdy and Division, so he and the other party and a PC Squad car are out there sorting everything out.... :-( BAH HUMBUG!

FOUR WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLES ONLY!!!

12:45 P.M. SUNDAY: The sun is out, but the parking lot has not been plowed yet. We do expect to be plowed today, but the service that does it has many other customers besides us, of course. We've not seen any county snow plows out here on our drifted roads either, so we do not recommend coming until these things have been taken care of. Unfortunately, Bob was diagnosed Thursday with achilles tendonitis--in his good leg! He has a foot/ankle immobilizer on for the next 3 months, and is using a cane. He'll be doing the best he can, but it won't be as good as usual, I'm afraid... We ask for your help and patience this winter. I'll report as soon as the lot gets plowed. Thanks for your understanding. Be careful out there!
